Light Source Communications Launches 240-Mile Dark Fiber Network in Indianapolis
Light Source Communications (LSC) announces a new 240-mile dark fiber network in the Indianapolis area, designed for hyperscalers and enterprises to support GPU-dense workloads. The network will include five high-capacity fiber rings, connecting approximately 20 municipalities and several data centers. Demand is driven by growth in AI and High-Performance Computing, with multiple global hyperscalers as anchor tenants. The project is set for completion by Q3 2027, with all infrastructure being constructed underground for security and reliability.

Light Source Communications (LSC) is establishing a 240-mile dark fiber network in the Indianapolis metropolitan area to support hyperscalers and enterprises engaged in GPU-dense workloads. The network will feature five high-capacity fiber rings and connect around 20 municipalities, directly linking to various data centers.
The initiative responds to the surge in demand driven by AI and High-Performance Computing, with several global hyperscalers already signed as anchor tenants. The project is scheduled for completion by the third quarter of 2027 and will be constructed entirely underground to ensure security and reliability. LSC is also enhancing connectivity in other markets, including Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Tulsa.
