The board aims to ensure that any regulations regarding data centers are consistent and align with current laws. No businesses have expressed interest in establishing data centers in Lima Township at this time.

The moratorium allows the Lima Township Planning Commission, along with local officials and legal advisors, to study relevant regulations and propose amendments to the ordinance that would define the parameters for data center operations. This approach is intended to protect residents' welfare and natural resources while addressing zoning concerns.
