Lisbon and Setúbal Ports Invest €750,000 in AI Project and New Data Center

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

The Ports of Lisbon and Setúbal have initiated a technological modernization cycle with a €750,000 investment in an Artificial Intelligence (AI) project and a new data center. The AI project, budgeted at €52,000, will be implemented in two phases, starting with the training of 70 employees (35 from each port) on the Copilot AI tool during the first semester.

Additionally, an AI agent will be developed for online user support. Following user validation, the second phase will focus on automating critical internal processes, including the processing of occupancy requests and public tenders.

Concurrently, a new integrated data center, costing €700,000, has been commissioned to support both ports, with construction expected to begin in the second half of 2026. These initiatives align with the Ports 5+ strategy, specifically enhancing digitalization and automation.
