Lisle Withdraws Cloud Centers Data Center Proposal, Yorkville Approves 17M SF Project
Lisle officials announced the withdrawal of Cloud Centers' data center proposal due to public opposition, while Yorkville approved Project Cardinal, a 17 million square foot data center development. The Lisle project faced skepticism from residents, with over 300 attending a recent public hearing. In contrast, Yorkville's City Council approved a massive 1,037-acre campus, which includes a $51 million development agreement to support local services.

Cloud Centers withdrew its proposal for a 256,000-square-foot data center in Lisle after facing significant public opposition. The site, at 711 Ogden Avenue, has been vacant for over 20 years and is environmentally sensitive due to past toxic leaks.
Meanwhile, Yorkville City Council approved Project Cardinal, a 1,037-acre data center campus including 14 buildings totaling 17 million square feet. The project, led by Pioneer Development, promises $51 million in payments over four years for local services, potentially combined with $40 million from another project by Prologis, totaling $91 million in local contributions.
