Lithium Argentina Reports Reduced Loss and Increased Production, Shares Rise 10.5%
Lithium Argentina's shares increased by 10.5% after the company reported a reduced quarterly loss of $1.2 million and ongoing production growth. The company expects production at its Cauchari-Olaroz lithium project in Argentina to reach between 35,000 and 40,000 tonnes in 2026, benefiting from rising lithium prices estimated at $17,000 per tonne for Q1. Financial health remains mixed with a current ratio of 0.34 and a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.3, indicating potential liquidity issues despite operational improvements.

Lithium Argentina's shares rose 10.5% following the announcement of a quarterly loss of $1.2 million for Q4 2025, down from $4.8 million a year earlier. This reduction coincides with a 20% increase in production at the Cauchari-Olaroz lithium site in Jujuy, Argentina, totaling approximately 9,700 metric tonnes for the quarter and 34,100 tonnes for the year, up 34%.
The company aims to integrate its Cauchari-Olaroz and Pastos Grandes projects with downstream processing capabilities. Looking ahead, production is projected to reach 35,000-40,000 tonnes in 2026. Despite operational gains, the company's liquidity concerns persist with a current ratio of 0.34 and a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.3. Analysts recommend a moderate buy with a target price of $7.16, while volatility remains high at 56.4.
