Little Rock Delays Proposal to Halt Data Center Approvals
Little Rock officials have deferred a proposal to pause new large-scale data center approvals until August 4. The measure will not affect an existing Google data center project.

The Little Rock Board of Directors has deferred a proposal to halt approvals for large-scale data centers until August 4. The request, made by city directors Kathy Webb and Capi Peck, aims to address concerns raised by constituents regarding a moratorium on zoning applications for hyperscale facilities, as defined in regulations approved in June.
The deferral allows more time for city officials to engage with community members prior to the new meeting date. Notably, the proposal will not impact a planned Google data center at the Port of Little Rock. The delay reflects a broader interest in balancing development with community input.
