Local Governments and Farmers Challenge AES Transmission Line Project in Ohio
Sabina and the East Clinton School District, along with five other parties, filed petitions on April 3 to intervene against AES's proposed 29-mile transmission line between Fayette and Clinton substations. The petitioners assert the project poses environmental risks and disrupts local farming and economic activities, urging alternative routes to minimize impact.

On April 3, petitions were filed by the village of Sabina, East Clinton Local School District, and five other parties against AES's planned 29-mile transmission line project in Ohio. The line, intended to connect the Fayette and Clinton substations, could affect local land and water sources, disrupt farming activities, and hinder economic development.
Petitioners highlight the absence of acquired easements on affected farms and express concerns about construction traffic impacting school bus routes. Additionally, local officials argue potential harm to wildlife and infrastructure, indicating that the project could stifle community growth. Negotiations between AES and landowners began in late 2025, with no easements secured at the time of filing.
