Lorain County Approves $3.2M Consulting Contract for New Wastewater Treatment Plant
Lorain County commissioners approved a $3.2 million consulting contract with K.E. McCartney & Associates for a new wastewater treatment plant and sewer system. The contract, passed unanimously on February 13, will facilitate the construction of the Quarry Road Sanitary Trunk Sewer Extension in Vermilion. The project, originally estimated at $85-$100 million, has been reduced to $15-$20 million through collaboration between city and county officials. The project aims to enhance water quality in Lake Erie and support future economic development.
