Louisville Planning Committee Rejects Moratorium on Data Center Rezonings
A proposed moratorium to halt new rezonings for data center projects in Louisville was rejected by the Planning and Zoning Committee. The committee chair confirmed the item would not advance, as it was set to expire on March 11. Currently, one hyper-scale data center is under development on Camp Ground Road, requiring 400 megawatts of electricity. Councilman Andrew Owen expressed no concern over the moratorium's failure, noting there are no other projects in the pipeline. A public hearing regarding the data center project is scheduled for Thursday.

The Planning and Zoning Committee in Louisville declined a proposed moratorium on new rezonings for data center projects, which would have expired on March 11. The only current data center project involves Poe Companies and PowerHouse Data Centers on Camp Ground Road, expected to need 400 megawatts at full capacity.
This project is on land already zoned industrial, requiring only Development Review Committee approval. Councilman Andrew Owen indicated no worries about the moratorium's failure, citing the absence of other projects. A public hearing for the Camp Ground Road data center is set for Thursday.
