LPG Production Targets Established for 24 Companies at 63.81 KTPD
The Indian government has set maximum LPG output levels for 24 companies, totaling 63.81 KTPD, to enhance domestic supply. This regulatory change aims to bolster resilience against supply disruptions and ensure stable availability of cooking gas.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has established maximum LPG production levels for 24 companies, totaling 63.81 KTPD, with Reliance Industries leading at 18 KTPD. The order, issued on August 13, amends the Petroleum Products Order of 1999, mandating infrastructure development for LPG storage and transportation.
Companies must implement advanced technologies to maximize output and are required to comply with government directives to increase production when necessary. The government will revise production targets biannually, with monitoring by the Centre for High Technology. This regulatory framework aims to improve domestic cooking-gas supply stability and mitigate risks from external disruptions.
