Luggate's Water Treatment Plant Upgrades Complete with New UV System and Supply Lines
WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATION
Luggate's containerised water treatment plant is now fully operational, providing UV treatment for the town's drinking water. The Queenstown Lakes District Council confirmed the plant is connected to new water sources, which include a protozoa barrier and two new supply bores.
These upgrades aim to ensure safe drinking water for the growing community. Ongoing minor works include building bore enclosures and creating a second supply line to improve the water network. Some temporary detours are expected in February. Completion of all upgrades is anticipated by the end of March 2026.
