Lukoil Approves Investment for Delayed Coker at Nizhny Novgorod Refinery
Lukoil has finalized investment for a delayed coker complex at its Nizhny Novgorod refinery, aiming to enhance light product yield and reduce fuel oil output. The project, designed to process 2.1 million tonnes annually, is set to launch in 2021, bringing new technology-intensive jobs to the region.

Lukoil's final investment decision for a delayed coker complex at the Nizhny Novgorod refinery was made on November 30, 2017. The complex will include a delayed coker unit, diesel hydro treatment unit, gas fractionation unit, and production units for sulfur and hydrogen, among other infrastructure.
The facility is designed to process 2.1 million tonnes per year, improving light product yield by over 10% and reducing fuel oil production by 2.7 million tonnes annually. Planned for launch in 2021, the project will also create technology-intensive jobs in the area. Contracts for technical documentation and main long lead items have been signed with CB&I and Kinetics Technology.
