Lynn Water & Sewer Commission Proposes 4% Rate Increase for 2027
Lynn residents could face a 4% increase in water and sewer rates by 2027 to fund a $200 million budget for facility upgrades. The proposed funding will support critical capital improvements, including a new wastewater treatment facility.

The Lynn Water & Sewer Commission has proposed a 4% increase in water and sewer rates for 2027 to meet the financial demands of a $200 million budget aimed at facility upgrades. This budget includes $74 million for a new wastewater treatment facility and $14 million for enhancements to the existing wastewater system, driven by a 20-year operation and management contract.
The commission's revenue must increase to support these projects, especially as debt service payments for previous loans have intensified fiscal pressures. The upcoming Lynn Water & Sewer Commission meeting on June 15 will address these budget and rate proposals, allowing public input on the planned changes.
