Lyten has completed the acquisition of Northvolt's operations, which includes a facility in Skellefteå and a battery laboratory in Västerås, valued at $5 billion. The acquisition will lead to the creation of approximately 600 jobs over the next year as production restarts.

EdgeConneX will also establish a data center on the Skellefteå site, in collaboration with Lyten. The first commercial battery cells are expected to be delivered in the second half of this year. Furthermore, plans include an industrial and innovation hub in Skellefteå focused on batteries and AI.
