Madagascar Initiates Tenders for PRODIGY Digital Government Project
Madagascar has launched multiple tenders as part of the Digital Governance and Identification Management System Project (PRODIGY). The tenders comply with World Bank procurement regulations and are open to all IDA-eligible countries.
One tender involves the supply of office materials for biometric enrollment, requiring bids to include a security of 25 million Malagasy Ariary (approximately US$5,500), with delivery expected within 60 days of notice. Another tender focuses on rehabilitation works for data centers in the Tsimbazaza and Lavoloha neighborhoods.
PRODIGY aims to create an interoperable identity management system, develop digital government services, and enhance project management support. The project's timeline was revised in August, extending the closing date to June 30, 2026, to facilitate local procurement methods and improve execution speed. A recent procurement closed on September 1 for consulting services to enhance the national interoperability system.
