Madeira Regional Government Invests €15.5 Million in New Datacenter Construction
The Regional Government of Madeira is investing €15.5 million in a new 'Tier 3' certified Datacenter in Funchal, managed by EMACOM, a subsidiary of EEM Group. This facility will support the public administration of the Autonomous Region, alongside a redundant Datacenter in Machico and a 'Disaster Recovery' system in Porto Santo, with operations expected to begin in the first half of this year. Regional President Miguel Albuquerque is scheduled to visit the construction site tomorrow.

The Regional Government of Madeira is constructing a new Datacenter in Funchal, through EMACOM, a subsidiary of EEM Group. This 'Tier 3' certified facility, located at Caminho das Virtudes, will serve the entire public administration of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, with a total investment of €15.5 million funded by the PRR.
The project also includes a redundant Datacenter being built near the Água de Pena substation in Machico, along with a strategically located 'Disaster Recovery' system in Porto Santo. Both the main Datacenter and the redundant Datacenter are progressing well, with operations expected to commence in the first half of this year. Regional President Miguel Albuquerque will visit the construction site tomorrow at 15:30.
