Maharashtra CM Fadnavis Directs Implementation of 55 MoUs for 78,215 MW Pumped Storage Projects
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has called for the expedited implementation of 55 MoUs for pumped storage hydro-power projects in the state, targeting a total capacity of 78,215 MW. The projects are expected to attract an investment of approximately Rs 4,16,701 crore and create around 127,990 jobs. Six projects have begun development, while five more are pending approval. Key companies involved include Adani Green Energy, NHPC, and JSW Energy.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has mandated the swift execution of 55 signed MoUs for pumped storage hydro-power projects, which aim for a total capacity of 78,215 MW. The expected financial investment is Rs 4,16,701 crore, with an anticipated job creation of 127,990 positions.
Six projects, totaling 10,300 MW, have received approval from the Central Electricity Authority and are currently underway. Additionally, five more projects with a capacity of 8,200 MW are awaiting approval.
Fadnavis emphasized inter-departmental coordination to ensure timely project completion. Notable companies involved include Adani Green Energy, NHPC, JSW Energy, and others.
