Maharashtra Government Launches Industrial and Defence Corridors Development Plan in Nagpur
The Maharashtra government has unveiled a development plan for industrial and defence corridors in Nagpur, part of a broader industrial policy approved by the Cabinet. This initiative includes the Samruddhi Industrial Corridor linking Nagpur to Mumbai, along with plans for electric vehicle fleets and significant infrastructure investments totaling Rs3,000 crore. The policy aims to attract investments in key sectors such as semiconductors, hydrogen fuel, and aerospace, enhancing Maharashtra's position as a leading investment hub.

The Maharashtra government has announced plans to develop industrial and defence corridors along Nagpur as part of a new industrial policy approved by the Cabinet. The corridors will span Nagpur, Wardha, Amravati, and Saoner in Vidarbha, with additional developments planned in Pune, Ahilya Nagar, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Nashik, and Dhule.
Key initiatives include the Samruddhi Industrial Corridor connecting Nagpur to Mumbai, featuring 18 new townships and 24 interchanges. The policy also supports the establishment of electric vehicle fleets in Nagpur, Mumbai, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Pune, and Amravati, alongside plans for a steel corridor in Gadchiroli and a green corridor in Butibori.
A critical investment fund of Rs3,000 crore will be created through 'Invest Maharashtra' to enhance infrastructure for these corridors. The policy aims to position Maharashtra as a leading investment destination, targeting sectors such as semiconductors, hydrogen fuel, and aerospace.
