Maharashtra to Expand Solar Agricultural Feeder Scheme by 10,000 MW for 8 Lakh Farmers
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that 8 lakh farmers have benefited from the Solar Agricultural Feeder Scheme, which will be expanded by an additional 10,000 MW to provide daytime electricity to 75% of farmers. The initiative has received international recognition and aims to ensure at least 10 hours of daily electricity supply. The next phase will focus on battery storage systems for enhanced energy utilization.

Maharashtra's Solar Agricultural Feeder Scheme has benefited 8 lakh farmers, providing affordable daytime electricity. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reported the completion of 4,000 MW capacity and plans to expand by 10,000 MW, aiming to supply daytime power to 75% of farmers.
Efforts are ongoing to extend the scheme statewide by next year. The scheme has received several international awards and recognition from the International Solar Alliance. The next phase will emphasize battery storage for better energy utilization and integration with the power grid.
