Major Investments Planned for Energy System Overhaul in Poland
Poland's energy system faces significant upgrades to handle new offshore wind and nuclear power generation. Between 2026 and 2028, Energa-Operator plans to invest approximately 3 billion PLN annually for network expansion and modernization.

Energa-Operator's investment plan for 2026-2028 includes 3 billion PLN per year for upgrading the energy network to accommodate new offshore wind power and a future nuclear plant. By 2027, around 1 GW of capacity from offshore wind farms is expected to be integrated, contributing to an overall target of 10 GW, with over 11 GW already connected from renewable sources.
Modernization efforts will focus on enhancing transmission capabilities and upgrading aging infrastructure, much of which dates back to the 1980s. The company aims to maintain reliability, with over 60% of energy from renewables across its network. Additionally, efforts are underway to attract businesses that utilize this renewable energy, particularly in northern Poland.
