Malaysia Develops Real-Time EV Charging Bay Tracker via eMSP
Malaysia is implementing an e-Mobility Service Platform (eMSP) to enhance EV charging bay accessibility. This initiative aims to provide real-time data for 10,000 charging bays by 2025, addressing range anxiety for EV users.

The Malaysian government, through the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) and the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), is developing a real-time tracker for EV charging bays via the e-Mobility Service Platform (eMSP). This system will synchronize with the Malaysia Electric Vehicle Charging Network (MEVnet) to deliver timely updates on charging locations, targeting the establishment of 10,000 public charging bays by the end of 2025.
The initiative is part of the Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint 2021-2030 and aims to address data fragmentation and improve accessibility for EV drivers. A coordinated approach involving various agencies, including the Energy Commission, is critical for successful implementation and growth.
