Manaus Enhances Digital Infrastructure with Nutanix for Urban Services
Manaus is investing R$ 60-70 million in Nutanix solutions to enhance its cloud-based digital infrastructure. This includes expanding AI capabilities and optimizing municipal services across health, education, and urban mobility.

The municipality of Manaus has been progressively developing its digital infrastructure over the last 12 years, currently operating on a private cloud with two data centers. The Municipal Finance, Planning, and Information Technology Secretariat (Semef) is projected to invest R$ 60 to R$ 70 million in new Nutanix solutions, including the acquisition of 16 new nodes, six of which will support AI initiatives.
Manaus's digitalization began in 2005, transitioning to a structured data center model in 2012. Tests showed Nutanix systems performing three times better, reducing processing times significantly. The city now operates approximately 1,500 virtual machines, with further expansion planned for 2026. The infrastructure supports smart city projects and aims for complete digital service delivery, integrating multiple municipal operations through a centralized data environment.
