Mantle8 Partners with S³ for Global Natural Hydrogen Exploration Using Seismic Technology
Mantle8 has formed a strategic partnership with S³ to enhance the exploration of natural hydrogen deposits using dedicated seismic sensors. This collaboration aims to streamline data acquisition and enable concurrent exploration campaigns. Mantle8 plans to utilize its Horex technology to map underground hydrogen systems and aims for a hydrogen price of 0.80 euros per kilogram by 2030.

Mantle8, a French geoscience company, has partnered with S³ to gain access to seismic sensors for natural hydrogen exploration. Announced in February 2026, this long-term partnership includes S³ procuring sensors and providing deployment and monitoring services globally.
The collaboration seeks to eliminate bottlenecks in exploration, allowing for multiple campaigns to run simultaneously. Mantle8 intends to use its Horex technology to map hydrogen-generating systems underground prior to drilling, aiming to reduce exploration risks and achieve a hydrogen price of 0.80 euros per kilogram by 2030.
