Marafiq Secures $500 Million Financing for Jubail Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant
Marafiq has achieved financial closure for the $500 million Amiral Industrial Wastewater Treatment and Reuse project in Jubail, funded by First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Korea Development Bank, and Qatar National Bank. Aqua Renew Company, a special-purpose vehicle owned by Marafiq, Veolia Middle East, and Lamar Arabia Energy, will develop the plant, which aims to treat complex industrial wastewater and support a circular economy. The facility will have an annual capacity of 8.8 million cubic meters, becoming the largest water reuse plant in the Middle East.

Marafiq has secured financing for the $500 million Amiral Industrial Wastewater Treatment and Reuse project in Jubail Industrial City 2. The financial closure was achieved with loans from First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Korea Development Bank, and Qatar National Bank.
Aqua Renew Company, the project's special-purpose vehicle, is jointly owned by Marafiq (40%), Veolia Middle East (35%), and Lamar Arabia Energy (25%). The plant will treat complex industrial wastewater and reintegrate treated water into industrial operations. It is set to be the largest water reuse plant in the Middle East, with an annual capacity of 8.8 million cubic meters.
