Marathon Patent Group to Acquire 10,000 ASIC Miners from Bitmain and Open Second Data Center
Marathon Patent Group has contracted Bitmain for 10,000 Antminer S-19j Pro ASIC Miners, with 6,000 units expected in August 2021 and 4,000 in September 2021. This will expand Marathon's mining capacity to 33,560 miners generating 3.56 EH/s and consuming about 100 MW of power at their Hardin, MT data center. Additionally, Marathon plans to establish a renewable energy-powered data center in the northeastern US, initially providing 100 MW of power, with potential to increase to 250 MW.
