The Marbella Council has initiated the removal of six high-voltage pylons in Nueva Andalucia, alongside the burial of nearly two kilometers of electrical cabling, funded by a private urban development project totaling around €2 million. This effort focuses on enhancing safety and returning space to residents.
The council has prioritized this area and has previously completed similar removals in Calle Castilla and Calle Salduba. Ongoing work is also taking place in Calle Rio Real. Future plans include the removal of up to 50 pylons across the city.
Close collaboration with Endesa is facilitating the burial of medium voltage lines, including a new substation in the San Pedro Alcantara industrial estate to support local growth. These measures are designed to address past infrastructure deficiencies and improve living standards.
