Matthews Engineering Launches MEODEO Production Line in Vreden, Germany
Matthews Engineering has inaugurated its MEODEO dry-electrode manufacturing line at its Vreden facility, enhancing battery development capabilities. This launch provides a vital link between research and commercial production, addressing the growing demand for advanced battery technologies.

Matthews Engineering's MEODEO dry-electrode production line is now operational at its Vreden, Germany facility, which spans 1,000m² dedicated to battery technology. The facility, opened in May 2025, enhances the company's capabilities in producing lithium-ion dry battery electrodes, solid-state batteries, and ultracapacitors.
MEODEO features a multi-roll calendaring system that processes electrodes up to 850mm wide at speeds of 150m/min, promoting efficient transition from R&D to commercial manufacturing. The center also includes advanced testing and coating facilities and aims to support technologies for hydrogen applications. This strategic move positions Matthews Engineering to meet increasing market demands, particularly for lithium iron phosphate and nickel manganese cobalt cathodes, while reinforcing its role in the evolving energy sector.
