MCD 7 LLC Proposes 1.4 Million Square Foot Data Center in Limerick, PA

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

MCD 7 LLC has proposed a 1.4-million-square-foot data center on 192 acres in Limerick, Pennsylvania, near the Philadelphia Outlets. The project features eight buildings, including five at 154,000 square feet and three at 202,000 square feet, each 85 feet tall, along with two 35-foot administrative buildings.

PECO will supply 750 megawatts of power, and the facility may require up to 1.3 million gallons of water per day, contingent on the cooling system used. The project, which is expected to take three to five years to complete, faces a conditional use hearing and must comply with strict local ordinances regarding noise, water use, and environmental impact.

Community concerns have emerged, including potential impacts on public utilities and alternative land uses. A petition opposing the project has gathered 153 signatures. Similar data center proposals in the region have faced opposition.
