Mediterra Acquires Open Hub Med Data Center in Sicily
Mediterra has acquired Open Hub Med, a carrier-neutral data center facility in Palermo, Sicily. The acquisition aims to support Mediterra's expansion strategy in Italy and Southern Europe, with the transaction expected to close by Q1 2026. Open Hub Med operates a 2MW, 1,000 sqm facility, expandable to 4MW and 4,000 sqm. Mediterra plans to enhance the site’s capacity and infrastructure to support digital transformation in the region.

Mediterra has acquired the Open Hub Med data center facility in Palermo, Sicily, with the transaction set to close by the end of Q1 2026. Open Hub Med operates a 2MW, 1,000 sqm facility in Carini, which launched in 2017 and is expandable to 4MW and 4,000 sqm.
Mediterra aims to enhance this site as part of its expansion strategy in Italy and Southern Europe. The company, founded in 2024 and backed by DWS Infrastructure, operates a 4MW site in Rome and is focused on providing premium infrastructure to support local businesses and public administration in Sicily.
