Mercedes-Benz Introduces MB.Drive Assist Pro, Competing with Tesla's FSD in New CLA EV
Mercedes-Benz has launched its MB.Drive Assist Pro driver assistance system at CES 2026, set to debut in new CLA EV models this spring. This advanced system, which builds on the existing MB.Drive Assist, features point-to-point driving capabilities and operates on both city streets and highways, positioning it as a competitor to Tesla's Full Self-Driving. Developed in collaboration with Nvidia, the system utilizes extensive AI technology and advanced sensors to enhance urban driving safety and efficiency.

Mercedes-Benz unveiled its MB.Drive Assist Pro driver assistance system at CES 2026, set to launch in new CLA EV models this spring. This advanced feature builds on the existing MB.Drive Assist, which has accumulated 15 million miles of use globally.
The system operates on both city streets and highways, similar to Tesla's Full Self-Driving. During a media demonstration in San Francisco, Assist Pro showcased its point-to-point driving capabilities and cooperative steering.
Although classified as a Level 2 driver-assist system, Mercedes promotes it as 'Level 2++', emphasizing driver control. The system successfully navigated complex urban scenarios, including avoiding obstacles and yielding to pedestrians. Developed in partnership with Nvidia, the CLA incorporates significant AI components, utilizing 10 cameras and five radar sensors, and is built on Nvidia's Orin supercomputer.
