Merus Power Signs €13 Million Energy Storage Deal with Neve Oy for Arctic Conditions in Finland

Merus Power Oyj has signed a €13 million agreement with Neve Oy to develop a 30 MW/80 MWh battery energy storage system for Rovaniemi, set to be operational by late 2026. Designed for Arctic conditions, the system can endure temperatures down to -50 °C, heavy snowfall, and ice.
It employs grid forming technology to enhance electricity grid stability. Merus Power will handle the manufacture, installation, and testing of the system, which utilizes advanced technology and proprietary software. This contract strengthens Merus Power’s presence in the Nordic and international energy storage markets.
