Meta Acquires Assured Robot Intelligence; DeepSeek Launches Low-Cost AI Model
Meta Platforms has acquired Assured Robot Intelligence (ARI), aiming to enhance its robotics AI capabilities amid rising investments in AI. Meanwhile, DeepSeek launched its V4-Flash model, offering significant cost advantages over competitors, raising implications for AI pricing dynamics in the market.

Meta Platforms has acquired Assured Robot Intelligence (ARI), focusing on robotics AI to enhance physical interaction capabilities. The acquisition aligns with Meta's strategy to increase its 2026 AI investment by $10 billion, raising its projected capital expenditures to between $125 billion and $145 billion.
ARI's team will integrate into Meta Superintelligence Labs, aiming to advance humanoid robotic systems. Concurrently, DeepSeek introduced its V4-Flash AI model, which operates at over 100 times lower cost than leading U.S. models, charging $0.14 and $0.28 per million tokens for input and output, respectively.
The company is exploring an IPO while preparing a more advanced model, V4-Pro. This shift highlights a competitive landscape where pricing and operational costs play crucial roles in AI deployment.
