Meta has signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for 850MW of solar and storage capacity with DESRI, extending its energy infrastructure partnership to nine states and over 2.5GW nationally. DESRI anticipates that approximately 1,110MW of this capacity will begin construction in 2026, creating numerous construction jobs and benefiting local economies.
The deal includes previously contracted projects: 150MW in Texas, 300MW in Utah, and 100MW in New Mexico. Additionally, community investment initiatives are part of the PPAs, including funding for scholarships in clean energy. Meta's renewable strategy also includes recent agreements with EDP Renewables for a 250MW solar project and exploration of space-based solar power technology.
