Metalex and Anzana Sign MoU to Develop Lobito Corridor Energy Infrastructure in Zambia
Metalex Commodities Inc. and Anzana Electric Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop energy infrastructure in Zambia's Lobito Corridor. The MoU aims to establish a medium voltage electricity network connecting Metalex's Kazozu copper-cobalt mine to the national grid, with potential local generation opportunities as electricity demand may reach 30MW by 2027. The partnership is expected to create up to 1,150 jobs, with 350 from Metalex operations and 800 through the joint venture with ZESCO.

Metalex Commodities Inc. and Anzana Electric Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance energy and critical minerals infrastructure in Zambia's Lobito Corridor. This collaboration aims to develop a medium voltage electricity network connecting the Kazozu copper-cobalt mine to the national grid, supported by a joint venture with national utility ZESCO.
The project anticipates up to 30MW electricity demand by 2027. The initiative is expected to create 1,150 jobs, with a capital investment of approximately US$300 million to connect around 2 million Zambians to grid electricity. The joint venture aligns with efforts to enhance infrastructure in Zambia's North-Western Province.
