Metalex and Anzana Sign MoU to Develop Lobito Corridor Energy Infrastructure in Zambia

STRATEGIC MINERALS

Metalex Commodities Inc. and Anzana Electric Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance energy and critical minerals infrastructure in Zambia's Lobito Corridor. This collaboration aims to develop a medium voltage electricity network connecting the Kazozu copper-cobalt mine to the national grid, supported by a joint venture with national utility ZESCO.

The project anticipates up to 30MW electricity demand by 2027. The initiative is expected to create 1,150 jobs, with a capital investment of approximately US$300 million to connect around 2 million Zambians to grid electricity. The joint venture aligns with efforts to enhance infrastructure in Zambia's North-Western Province.
