Metropolitan Development Commission to Decide on $4 Billion Data Center in Decatur Township, Indiana
The Metropolitan Development Commission is set to consider a $4 billion data center proposal in Decatur Township, Indiana. The project, proposed by Seattle-based Sabey Data Centers LLC, involves a 1 million square-foot facility with a capacity of 250 megawatts on a 130-acre lot. Unlike the failed Franklin-Google Data Center, this project does not require City-County Council approval due to existing industrial zoning. Local officials anticipate significant tax revenue, but residents express concerns over pollution and construction impacts.

The Metropolitan Development Commission is preparing to decide on a $4 billion data center proposal in Decatur Township, Indiana. The project, presented by Sabey Data Centers LLC, consists of a million-square-foot facility with a 250-megawatt capacity on a 130-acre site.

Projected tax revenue is estimated at $22 million, significantly higher than the current $16,000. However, residents are concerned about potential pollution and construction impacts during the four-year build period.
