Metso Introduces Robotic Solution for Enhanced Copper Electrorefining Efficiency
Metso has launched Outotec Robotic Split Strip technology to improve copper electrorefining operations by enhancing efficiency and flexibility. This innovation streamlines the cathode stripping process, reduces waste, and supports sustainable practices in both new and existing plants.

Metso's new Outotec Robotic Split Strip technology facilitates cathode sheet separation from cathode plates using robotics and advanced hydraulic controls. This system aims to minimize installation complexity and maintenance demands associated with traditional stripping machines, which often rely on large mechanical structures.
The compact design decreases the number of fixed components, promoting simpler layouts and enhancing operator accessibility. Key benefits include a smaller footprint, lower weight, and improved reliability through precise control systems. These advancements are expected to lead to faster commissioning and a reduced total cost of ownership, reinforcing Metso's expertise in hydrometallurgy with over 350 installed machines worldwide.
