Mexican Banks Enhance Financing for Renewable Energy and SMEs
Banco Sabadell México and Santander México are increasing financing for renewable energy and SMEs, targeting US$7.4 billion and MX$100 million respectively. These initiatives indicate a growing confidence in Mexico's energy transition and industrial manufacturing sectors, crucial for sustainable economic growth.

Banco Sabadell México plans to finance renewable energy and infrastructure projects amounting to US$7.4 billion, focusing on electricity transmission and mixed-investment schemes. This aims to support Mexico's goal of achieving 38.5% clean energy generation by 2030.
Concurrently, Santander México has partnered with CAINTRA to provide MX$100 million in preferential credit to SMEs in Nuevo Leon, anticipating a 4% growth in the industrial sector by 2026. The initiatives reflect a strategic move by financial institutions to enhance capital deployment in both energy and manufacturing sectors, with potential long-term impacts on job creation and economic resilience.
