Michael Alifen, founder and CEO of PT Dunia Virtual Online Tbk (AREA31), has announced plans for a new data center facility in Tapos, Depok, which will expand capacity tenfold from existing operations. The investment of about Rp300 billion is a strategic move to meet increasing data storage demands, particularly as AI technologies evolve.
AREA31 aims to provide high-quality services across its Jakarta-based facilities, including Data Center AREA31 in Gedung Cyber and Gedung TIFA. The company plans to further develop its land in Depok to accommodate additional data center buildings.
Challenges include rapidly changing technology, requiring careful investment to ensure long-term relevance. As competition rises in the data center sector, the company focuses on customer trust and service stability.
