Microchip Launches TS1800 and TS50x Controllers for Post-Quantum Cryptography
Microchip has expanded its Trust Shield portfolio with the TS1800 and TS50x controllers, addressing the need for post-quantum cryptography in response to new cybersecurity mandates. These devices support critical standards like the European Cyber Resilience Act and CNSA 2.0, enhancing security for data centers and infrastructure.

Microchip has introduced the TS1800 Platform Root of Trust controller and TS50x secure boot controller to enhance cybersecurity measures in data centers and infrastructure. The TS1800 IC, featuring hardware-accelerated post-quantum cryptography, offers significant performance improvements and supports secure boot and firmware updates.
It incorporates NIST-standardized algorithms and operates on an Arm Cortex-M4F processor. The TS50x family simplifies secure boot processes by focusing on PQC and classic cryptography for firmware verification. Both controllers align with NIST SP 800-193 guidelines and are available through Microchip's early adopter program, improving time to market for cryptographic upgrades.
