Microchip Unveils High-Precision Timing Modules for Data Centers and 5G Networks
Microchip Technology has launched the MD-990-0011-B timing modules, enhancing synchronization for 5G networks and data centers. This development, in partnership with Intel, supports critical applications requiring low-latency time synchronization.

Microchip's MD-990-0011-B timing modules provide high-precision synchronization for data centers and 5G virtualized radio access networks (vRAN). Designed for compatibility with Intel Xeon 6 SoC server platforms, these modules support OEMs and ODMs in developing advanced systems.
The modules feature automatic source selection across GNSS, synchronous Ethernet, and precision time protocol, offering flexibility to meet evolving network demands. Available in two versions, they provide different holdover performances, with one offering eight hours. The integration of components like SyncE synthesizers and OCXOs streamlines server architecture, reducing design complexity and downtime, vital for dynamic environments.
