Micron Seeks Annexation of 240 Acres in Boise for Expansion
Micron Technology plans to annex an additional 240 acres to its Boise campus, supporting its $50 billion expansion. This move increases the total area annexed since 2022 to over 1,140 acres, attracting attention to infrastructure needs in East Columbia.

Micron Technology is requesting the annexation of 240 acres to Boise, expanding its footprint to facilitate a new electrical substation next to its upcoming manufacturing plant. If approved, this will bring the total land annexed by Micron since 2022 to more than 1,140 acres.
Concerns have arisen regarding East Columbia's access roads, as the area currently relies on one route, which poses potential evacuation issues during emergencies. The Ada County Highway District has plans for a secondary road, but Micron is not obligated to fund its construction.
The company has previously paid $7.1 million in impact fees for local roads. The annexation aligns with Boise's goals for efficient development, although local developers argue that Micron should adhere to the same standards expected of smaller projects.
