Microsoft Announces Saudi Arabia East Datacenter Region for Cloud and AI Deployment by Q4 2026
Microsoft confirmed the launch of its Saudi Arabia East datacenter region by Q4 2026, enhancing its investment in the Kingdom's digital and AI goals under Vision 2030. This region, located in the Eastern Province, will feature three availability zones designed for enterprise reliability, enabling mission-critical cloud and AI workloads. The initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia's digital transformation strategy and includes collaboration with local stakeholders like the Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Microsoft will launch its Saudi Arabia East datacenter region in Q4 2026, supporting cloud and AI workloads as part of a long-term investment in the Kingdom's Vision 2030 digital ambitions. The facility in the Eastern Province will consist of three availability zones ensuring reliability and compliance with data residency.
This initiative aims to facilitate the deployment of secure, sovereign cloud services, enhance economic growth, and support both public and private sectors. Microsoft's collaboration with local stakeholders like the Public Investment Fund (PIF) is integral to fostering a resilient AI ecosystem in Saudi Arabia. The new region will expand Microsoft's global Azure network, which includes over 70 regions worldwide.
