Microsoft Corp. has completed construction of its first data center in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, which is now fully operational as of June 23, 2026. This project, announced in May 2024, was finished ahead of schedule and represents a significant milestone in Microsoft's ongoing investments in the area.
Approximately 550 full-time employees are currently engaged in the operation of this facility. The data center, named 'Fairwater,' is noted to house the world's most powerful supercomputer, contributing to advancements in artificial intelligence innovations globally. This development may enhance competition in AI technology and cloud services.
