Microsoft is partnering with PLN to establish a 200MW solar power project to meet the electricity needs of its data center in Indonesia. The 10-year contract is a part of Microsoft's sustainability commitment, targeting 100% carbon-free energy operations by 2025.

The data center in Karawang has a capacity of 144MW. In addition to carbon-neutral goals, Microsoft aims to achieve water positive status by 2030. Efforts include innovations in construction materials to reduce carbon footprint and improve environmental impact.
