Microsoft's Economic Impact in Portugal Estimated at €7.3 Billion by 2025
A study by EY estimates Microsoft will have an annual economic impact of €7.3 billion in Portugal by 2025, representing 2.5% of the country's GDP. The impact accounts for Microsoft's ecosystem, including partners utilizing its technology. Projections suggest the economic value could rise to €9 billion with the full operation of Microsoft's data center in Sines, potentially contributing 3.1% of GDP. The study estimates 35,000 jobs created through Microsoft and partners, with further growth expected from AI investments generating an additional 8,300 jobs.

Microsoft’s ongoing investment in the Sines data center includes $10 billion for advanced Nvidia GPU installations, which are already in production.
