Middle East Data Center Investments Suspended Amid Iran Conflict
Pure DC has paused investments in its Middle East data center projects due to ongoing conflict in Iran, affecting supply chains and increasing risks. This halt comes despite previous heavy investments aimed at capitalizing on the region's low-cost resources for AI infrastructure development.

Pure DC has suspended all planned investments in its Middle East data center initiatives, prompted by the instability from the Iran conflict. The company's facility in Abu Dhabi was damaged during an Iranian attack, which has led to uncertainty in the broader infrastructure landscape.
In March 2026, AWS infrastructure in the UAE and Bahrain was also disrupted by Iranian drone strikes. Despite the pause, Pure DC continues to engage in long-term planning and discussions for future projects, recognizing the region's potential as a long-term market. The company's recent decision follows significant government and corporate spending in the region aimed at enhancing AI infrastructure capabilities.
