On March 3, the Jaffrey Zoning Board approved MilliporeSigma's variance request to grade and excavate within a 75-foot wetland setback on Prescott Road for a new wastewater treatment tank. The proposed second equalization tank will be adjacent to an existing tank and will be surrounded by a concrete containment structure to prevent any soil contamination.

Engineers from Woodard & Curran indicated that regrading is necessary for the tank's installation, but the structure itself will remain outside the setback. The project will also include crushed gravel placement and a temporary staging area, with the board unanimously approving the application and waiving a site walk.
