Minesto Receives €24,000 Grant from Swedish Energy Agency for Market Expansion in Taiwan
Minesto has been awarded a €24,000 grant from the Swedish Energy Agency through the Global Innovation Accelerator programme to enhance its market development in Taiwan. The funding aims to support investments and partnerships for tidal energy power plants near Keelung and Green Island.
Minesto recently participated in the 2025 Nordic-Taiwan Sustainable Energy Forum in Taipei, where it showcased its ocean-energy technology to stakeholders in Taiwan's energy sector. This forum was co-organized by Business Sweden Taiwan and Taiwan's Energy Administration.
The collaboration with National Taiwan Ocean University and Taiwan Cement Green Energy is set to advance the commercialization of ocean-energy solutions in Taiwan. Strong tidal streams and ocean-current flows in Taiwan's waters indicate significant potential for renewable electricity generation, aligning with Minesto's tidal technology and Taiwan's low-carbon energy goals.
