The Minnesota Public Facilities Authority (MPFA) has designated $197.6 million in loans and grants for infrastructure projects aimed at improving wastewater and drinking water systems across 15 cities. Established in 1987, the MPFA has invested nearly $7.6 billion in public infrastructure, benefiting nearly every community in the state.
Funding sources include the Clean Water Revolving Fund, Drinking Water Revolving Fund, Point Source Implementation Grant program, Water Infrastructure Fund, and Small Community Wastewater Treatment Program. Specific projects include a $51 million initiative for the Alexandria Lake Area Sanitary District to install new treatment systems. This funding is critical for maintaining clean water and supporting economic growth in Minnesota.
