Minooka Village Board Approves Purchase of 100 Acres for Future Wastewater Treatment Plant
WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATION
The Minooka Village Board approved the purchase of 100 acres of land for the future construction of a wastewater treatment plant, with a total cost of approximately $5 million. The acquisition includes collaboration with the Conservation Foundation, which will assist in purchasing about half of the land.
The village plans to apply for a grant to cover the costs of this portion. The land is located on Route 6 near industrial areas, and the remaining acres will be converted to open space to serve as a buffer between industrial and residential zones. The project has been in development for two years, with construction anticipated in about ten years.
